Girl Receives Recognition After Making Emergency Call to Save Unconscious Dad

A seven-year-old girl was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Queensland Police on June 22, for calling triple zero call in 2017 when her father fell unconscious. Police released audio recording of the call.In the recording, O’Brien can be heard answering the operator’s questions about her father, her age, and checking on whether or not he was breathing. Thanks to her, emergency services were able to attend the scene quickly and give her father medical attention.O’Brien attended the Queensland Police headquarters on Friday, receiving a certificate a junior police cap and a koala cop toy.Communications Group Inspector Kim Kellaway said Addison had displayed a great sense of maturity during her phone call to police and that it was important to recognise her actions.
