Louis van Gaal says Jose Mourinho has "built up" Chelsea into one of the top teams in the country and says he hopes to do the same with Manchester United.

Mourinho was Van Gaal's assistant at Barcelona in the late 1990s, and the Dutchman describes the Portuguese as "a modest and emotional human being".

Manchester United take on Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League at 1600 GMT.
