Guess what was found in a bull's stomach? 187 pounds of plastic
  • 6 years ago
Veterinarian surgeons removed 187 pounds of plastic waste from the stomach of an abandoned bull in Maharashtra. The seven-year-old bull, later named Nandi by its rescuers, was found with bloated stomach on a road in Pimpri on April 23 this year. Rescued by activists of RESQ foundation, the animal could barely stand due to his back being bent with the load on his internal organs and couldn’t even breathe properly due to the pressure on his lungs. Veterinary surgeon Dr Chetan Vanjari operated on Nandi on April 29 and removed 85 kg of plastic waster and metal pieces including nails and glass in a two-and-a-half hour surgery. "It seemed that he had been eating plastic for the past 6 or 7 years," says Dr Vanjari.Watch the video to see human ignorance and carelessness is causing harm to animals.
