Thai runners display skin at Pattaya bikini beach race

Hundreds of contestants took part in the annual Pattaya Bikini Beach Race in Pattaya, Thailand, on May 19.

The 9km fun run saw 3,000 contestants take part in the race to promote ''healthy eating and exercise.''

Thaworn Wattanakul, Director of Chonburi Tourism and Sports, said: ''More than 3,000 people took part in the colourful event. There were some athletes and some people who just wanted to enjoy exercising.

''The goal is to promote exercise, a healthy lifestyle and encourage tourism here. There are prizes worth 500,000 baht (£11,500) to give away.''
