7. Fangtooth\r
Whats scarier than a snaggletooth? How about a Fangtooth! Why does everything at the bottom of the ocean have to either be extremely deadly or look like it belongs in the pits of hell? It doesnt get its name for nothing either! The teeth are proportionally the largest of any fish in the ocean. Dont always judge a book by its cover. Although these guys look fierce and dangerous, theyre completely harmless to humans. These are found only about as far as 16000 feet below water but are more commonly spotted around 700 feet. Not that youd want to try to spot it or anything. \r

6, Viperfish\r
It almost looks like a normal fish until you look at its teeth, then you realize this thing must live at the bottom of the ocean. Its noticeable with its snake like body and sharp needle like teeth. These fish can grow to be about two feet long and are certainly found at deep depths. They can go as low as 5000 feet but prefer shallower depths at night. The colors may vary depending on what region they choose as their habitat, such as green, silver and black. The fang like teeth paralyzes the victim and enjoy eating lanternfish and bristlemouths.\r

5. Sarcastic Fringehead\r
This fish poses no harm to humans whatsoever unless you get easily offended by sarcasm. So what turns out to be problem for most people is ually this fishs defense mechanism.This strange looking thing ually scares off predators by opening its large colorful mouth. When two territorial sarcastic Fringehead fish meet, they sort of end of fighting with their mouths almost like theyre kissing. They grow up to a foot long and live on the bottom of the western pacific, going about 240 feet deep\r

4. Vampire Squid\r
What sounds more vicious than a vampire squid. This is a small deep sea cephalopod found at the bottom of tropical oceans, and almost seems like a hybrid between an octopus and a squid. It grows to a maximum length of 12 inches and vary in color from jet black to pale red depending on lighting. Its not really sure how they get the name vampire squid, considering that they dont suck the blood of their enemies but the most terrifying thing about this squid is its bizarre appearance and their strange tentacles. It doesnt have ink like most squid and can emit a cloud of glowing sticky mucus. They are one of the few squid who dont eat live animals and rely on a source of food known as marine snow, which is basically dead plankton and fecal matter from other fish. \r

3. Giant Isopods\r
Although these giant isopods do resemble bugs or cockroaches, which are pretty creepy, they are ually extremely large crustaceans who can grow about 2 and half feet in length! Besides haunting your nightmares, these are found at the bottom of the ocean and are rather harmless. Theyre mostly scavengers who eat fish who already died from natural causes. Others believe that they do eat animals like sponges from time to time. One giant isopod in Japan went 5 years without 1 bite of food! Incredible! But they do enjoy a nice large meal once they do eat. These bottom dwellers live about 7000 feet deep, possibly even deeper and enjoy the muddy seafloor as shelter. Scientists are exly sure why these things get so large but its believed that the huge size and shells have helped them survive the enormous amount of pressure found at the bottom of the ocean. Would anyone eat this thing for lunch? \r

2. Helicoprion\r
So luckily this thing isnt still in our oceans, but its an extremely unusual shark that swam the seas over 290 million years ago. Whats so bizarre about this species, is that it has a spiraling teeth which is not known from any other species of fish or vertebrate that we know of. Fossils of this creature have puzzled paleontologists and leave many scratching their heads. How did these spiral teeth exly fit in the jaws of the Helicoprion. Many illustrations have been made but none of them really seem to look just right. This giant sea monster grew about 18-20 feet long. Researchers from Russia claim that the jaw curled upward towards the sharks mouth.\r
