Police Seize $8 Million Worth of Heroin Hidden in Children's Clothes

New South Wales Police seized 16 kg, around $8 million worth of heroin concealed within a package of children’s clothing from a home in Cabramatta West, a suburb of Sydney, on Wednesday, May 16.The package, which arrived in Sydney via air cargo from Thailand on May 1, caught the attention of the Australian Border Force. It was examined, x-rayed and tested positive for heroin.Police executed a search warrant at a home in Cabramatta West on May 16, seizing the drugs, documentation, mobile phones, and 27 cases of Johnny Walker Blue Label, valued at over $30,000. A man, 45, was arrested, taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with with knowingly taking part in large commercial drug supply.The man appeared in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday, where he was formally refused bail and ordered to reappear on July 18.
