DIY Body Wraps

Body wraps have become extremely popular recently, especially at higher end salons and spas.\r
Im doing an easy body wrap at home using the same ingredients used by the pros. A basic guide for a body wrap mixture is 64 ounces of water, 2 cups of clay, 1 cup of salt, and then any additional ingredients. Using this as a base, you can add a variety of natural ingredients for additional skin benefits. There are many claims surrounding these treatments ranging from weight loss to cellulite removal, but despite outrageous and unproven claims, there are some undeniable benefits.\r
Body wraps are great for replenishing lacking nutrients, especially those that are essential for healthy skin cells. It can also help with skin irritations like eczema, dry and dull skin, or body acne. They can even help with sore muscles!\r
Im using some old clothes to apply rather than the typical bandages to make the process much easier and faster. I am not applying this for weight loss, so I am not too concerned about compression. Wrapping in plastic traps in heat and moisture, but you can also try using a plastic sauna suit to avoid unnecessary plastic waste.and it might make the process even easier and faster. You can also avoid the plastic altogether.\r
Im cutting the standard recipe in half for this video.\r
32 ounces of water\r
1 cup bentonite clay\r
1/2 cup dead sea salt\r
1/4 cup kelp/spirulina mix\r
1/8 cup aloe powder\r
\r
You can add a bit of body oil if your skin is very dry.\r
Bring water to a boil, then add ingredients and stir to dissolve. Allow mix to cool slightly, then submerge clothing inside-out into the mixture so that the inside of the clothing is saturated. You will then put the clothing on the correct way, so that the inside is - inside! Leave on 30 minutes to one hour, and it is recommended to do light exercise while wearing to open pores, and to trap heat and moisture. Rinse body and clothing clean when finished.\r
