Korean automakers' production, exports and domestic sales in downtrend

Korean automakers are having a torrid time,... with output and sales in retreat at home and abroad.
Data released by the Bank of Korea and Statistics Korea on Saturday shows production was down twelve-and-a-half percent in March compared to the same month a year earlier.
Automobile production was been on the steady decline since the end of last year.
In terms of exports,... they were eight-point-six percent lower on-year in April.
The popularity of imported cars has also eaten into Korean automakers' domestic sales.
Sales were down zero-point-nine percent in March,... while imported car sales soared by more than 23 percent in the same month.
