U.S. Unemployment Rate Drops Below 4 Percent
  • 6 years ago

U.S. job growth increased less than expected in April. But the unemployment rate dropped to a near 17.5-year low of 3.9 percent. This is due to some out-of-work Americans leaving the labor force. The Labor Department’s closely watched employment report on Friday also showed wages barely rose last month. Non-farm payrolls increased by 164,000 jobs last month. Currently only 62.8 percent of Americans have a job or are looking for one. President Trump cheered the unemployment drop on Friday.
