Impeachment war BJP slams Congress for the impeachment motion against CJI Dipak Misra
  • 6 years ago
The opposition led by lead of opposition Ghulam Nabu Azad today moved the impeachment motion against the CJI Dipak Misra. The opponent MPs from the Rajya Sabha met the Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu to move the motion. The move comes following the scathing observation of the Supreme Court which said that the petitioners were colluding with political parties and had maligned the judiciary. As Manyas 71 MPs have signed the impeachment motion against the CJI. Massive row has erupted over Congress leader Kapil Sibal’s stand on the whole impeachment issue. In 1993 Kapil Sibal defended Justice V Ramaswami against impeachment and Ramaswami continued to preside in court during the impeachment proceedings however now Sibal is demanding CJI Dipak Misra to abstain from sitting on bench during proceedings. The question is why such glaring dual statements are coming to the fore from the Congress Senior Leader.
