Trump Touts Economy, Military Spending At White House Easter Egg Roll Event

President Trump on Monday touted the economy and military spending during the White House Easter Egg Roll event.

President Trump came to the defense of the Sinclair Broadcast Group on Monday.
"So funny to watch Fake News Networks, among the most dishonest groups of people I have ever dealt with, criticize Sinclair Broadcasting for being biased," Trump wrote in a tweet. "Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke."  Sinclair came under fire on Saturday over its apparent early March distribution of fake-news-blasting scripts to a number of its local stations, reports CNN. A recent video posted by Deadspin shows a bevy of local news anchors giving similar warnings against "biased and false" reports. Lines spoken by the newscasters include, "Some members of the media use their platforms to push their own personal bias," and, "This is extremely dangerous to a democracy."  Sinclair, the largest broadcaster in the country, has been criticized for promoting an agenda that often leans rather right. The New York Times reports that "Sinclair regularly sends video segments to the stations it owns. These are referred to as 'must-runs,' and they can include content like terrorism news updates, commentators speaking in support of President Trump."
