The BJP and the Congress are engaged in a war of words over the alleged link of both parties to data firm Cambridge analytica. The BJP hit out at the congress saying that does it now depend on data theft to woo voters and that Rahul Gandhi must come clean and give explanation on his party's links to the firm. The Congress retorted and called the BJP a factory of lies.

Meanwhile, NewsX' sister company Sunday Guardian had first reported in November 2017 how the Congress was engaging Cambridge Analytica for Rahul Gandhi's image makeover. Sunday Guardian also reported it again on 17th march 2018 of Congress' digitisation plan that sought to employ the services of Cambridge Analytica.
