Gay Parade on Road

Mumbai's first ever Gay Pride March took place on Saturday afternoon beginning
from August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai to Girgaum Chowpatty. The Lesbian Bisexual
Gay and Transgender (LBGT) community walked one day after Independence Day to press for the removal of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code that criminalizes homosexuality. The carnival like march had an underlying serious message:
abolish homophobia and respect diversity.
