In Bow To NRA, Trump Throws Gun Purchase Age To States

President Donald Trump has put off action on raising the minimum age for gun purchases. Trump had previously backed the proposal to raise the minimum age from 18 to 21 after the latest U.S school shooting. The republican president announced a modest set of school safety plans on Sunday, all closely aligned with National Rifle Association positions. The measures proposed by the White House were weaker than the sweeping changes Trump had embraced during his televised meetings on the issue.
