S. Korean gov't announces new measures to tackle sex-related crimes

Also on International Women's Day,... the South Korean government announced a new set of plans to prevent sexual violence within the workplace.
Amid the rapidly spreading MeToo movement,... Gender Equality and Family Minister Chung Hyun-back said Thursday, that the government will strengthen punishment for sex-related crimes,... and for people who try to cover up or ignore such incidents.
The maximum prison sentence for obtaining sex without consent will be increased to ten years from the current five years.
And the maximum sentence for sexual harassment has also been increased from two years to five years.
Chung added that a special investigation will look into the latest sexual assault allegations in the cultural sphere.
