Tripura : Statue of Lenin brought down at Belonia College Square in Agartala | Oneindia News

A statue of Vladimir Lenin was brought down at Belonia College Square in Tripura’s Agartala on Monday. The BJP and its ally on Saturday scripted history by ending the 25-year reign of the Left Front led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) with a two-thirds majority in the Tripura legislative assembly elections. A political war of words broke out immediately with the Left terming the incident as 'Communism phobia." The BJP reacted by saying that the statue was brought down by people who were oppressed by the Left.
