Apple Admits it Uses Google's Cloud for iCloud Last month, the company updated its iOS Security Guide to include information that iCloud services rely on the Google Cloud Platform. Before the January update, Apple uses remote data storage systems from Amazon and Microsoft, as stated in the online document. It is unclear when Apple made the transition, but it's proof that Google's cloud is catching up with Microsoft and Amazon in the cloud infrastructure business. Google announced earlier this month that its cloud-based products and services contribute $1 billion in revenue per quarter.
