Dashcam Video Shows US Park Police Fatally Shooting Driver Following Car Chase

Dashcam video shows a man evading US Park Police several times before the officers fatally shot him in November.The video shows the officers within close range of Bijan Ghaisar as he sat in his vehicle before firing several shots. It also shows Ghaisar evading police twice earlier when officers had stopped him. The incident started after Ghaisar was suspected to be involved in a hit-and-run accident, NBC Washington reported.The Fairfax County Police Department, involved in the chase, released the video on Tuesday, January 24, after showing it to the victim’s family. The FBI is in charge of investigating the shooting.Ghaisar’s lawyers told the Washington Post a medical report showed he had been shot four times in the head, not three times as had been previously reported. Additionally, the attorney told The Post his client was unarmed.The officers involved in the shooting have not been identified, and the Post said no reason for the shooting has been released by parks police.
