Review Blackhawk Oversized Trigger guard

I recently purchased this Blackhawk Oversized Trigger Guard with hopes of installing it on my Alexander Arms aar15 6.5 grendel build. I took it out of the package and test fit it only to find out it's a full 1/16" too narrow to fit well. I've contacted Blackhawk to find out what's going on. I was initially told that most likely it's my receiver. Best I can tell from looking online is the receiver is fine at 7/16 width. So once I hear back from Blackhawk about whether or not this was a manufacturing flaw or just poor design I will update the comments to reflect that.
