Second Day Of Deliberation Begins In Turkish Banker's U.S. Trial

On Thursday, a New York jury headed into its second day of deliberations in the trial of a Turkish banker accused of helping Iran dodge US sanctions. Deliberations began on Wednesday following the three-week trial of Mehmet Hakan Atilla, an executive at Turkey's state-owned Halkbank. Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab implicated Turkish officials, including President Tayyip Erdogan, in a scheme meant to allow Iran to spend its oil and gas revenues abroad, including through U.S.
