La música de Dani es una mezcla del folk-americano desprolijo de Neil Young con el slide revolucionario de Ben Harper, cantado en español.
Sus canciones se caracterizan por sus riffs y melodías memorables, ejecutadas con precisión. Su voz, por momentos casi un susurro, le aporta esa cuota de melancolía cruda y un alma sonora mucho más visceral. En ellas predominan temáticas complejas y sensibles abordadas desde la simpleza y la sinceridad.
Nacido y criado en Buenos Aires. Su despertar por la música comenzó a a los 5 años cuando escuchaba los cassettes de los Beatles que tenía su madre. A los 13 años empezó a tocar la batería en una banda de Rock pesado del secundario. A pesar de no tocar ningún instrumento armónico Dani siempre fue un activo compositor de canciones. De grande se animó a agarrar la guitarra y cantar para finalmente presentar sus propias canciones.
A fines de 2011 decidió vender su fondo de comercio y dejar su trabajo para viajar a Nueva York donde estuvo varios meses tomando clases de Weissenborn y pudo ver en vivo e incluso conocer a los artistas que hoy lo influencian (Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, Donavon Frankenreiter). Este viaje fue un quiebre. En su vuelta a Buenos Aires Dani estaba decidido a dedicarse de lleno a la música y a la exploración del weissenborn.
Este año presentó EP1, su primer producción discográfica, el cual es un registro en vivo del formato solista. Para fin de año tiene programado lanzar su primer LP “Para Bien”, grabado en formato de banda y con la participación de invitados como Juan Gigena Ávalos (Ciro y Los Persas), Gimena Álvarez Cela (No Lo Soporto), Zeke Zima (Butch Morris Nublu Orchestra, Wax Poetic, Diego García).
Dani Ferretti's music is a mixture of Neil Young's scruffy american folk and Ben Harper's revolutionary slide, in spanish.
His songs have strong riffs and memorable melodies, executed precisely. His voice, at times almost a whisper, brings that raw melancholy and a much more visceral resounding soul.
Complex and sensitive themes in these songs are addressed in a simple and sincere way.
He was born and raised in Buenos Aires. His music awakening started at 5, when he started listening to his mother's Beatles cassettes. At 13, he began playing the drums in a heavy rock band in high school. Although he didn't play any harmonic instruments, Dani has always been an active songwriter. Some years later, he found the courage to play the guitar and sing his own songs.
At the end of 2011 he decided to sell his own business and leave his job for New York, where he spent some months taking Weissenborn classes and where he was able to listen and meet his musical influences (Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, Donavon Frankenreiter). This trip was a breaking point. Back in Buenos Aires, Dani decided to devote his life to music and to explore the Weissenborn instrument.
In 2016 he published his first album, EP1, a live register of his solo performances. At the end of this year, he will release his first LP, “Para Bien”, recorded with his band and with featuring artists such as Juan Gigena Ávalos (Ciro y Los Persas), Gimena Álvarez Cela (No Lo Soporto), Zeke Zima (Butch Morris Nublu Orchestra, Wax Poetic, Diego García).
