Being one of the best climbers in the world means packing like one of the best climbers in the world. That's why Tommy Caldwell, has a few special items that he absolutely never leaves home without. The first, his wedding ring, is easy to remember as it stays attached to him practically all of the time. Like many climbers, Tommy doesn't wear his ring on his finger for fear of degloving injuries, (don't Google that), electing instead to wear the ring around his neck. A modern athlete through-and-through, Tommy's iPhone is also never far away, allowing him to update his social media from the road as well as staying in touch with family and friends back home. Being a modern athlete also means being aware of his impact on the environment and Tommy also brings with him a Clif Bar coffee mug to help cut down on waste from plastic or paper cups. Lastly it's the item that no true climber is ever without, his climbing shoes, the La Sportiva Solutions, which give him the freedom to get out and climb no matter where he finds himself.
