Jakarta Protesters Rally Against Trump's Jerusalem Decision Outside US Embassy

Thousands of people demonstrated outside the US embassy in Jakarta on Sunday, December 10, in protest of US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.This video shows protesters in Islamic clothing and skullcaps waving flags and holding up signs.The protest was organized by Islam-based political party Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, or Prosperous Justice Party, which also called for the public to boycott products from the US. According to The Jakarta Post, Indonesian President Joko Widodo condemned Trump’s move and summoned the US ambassador in Jakarta.Trump’s announcement sparked similar protests in a number of Muslim-majority countries, including Malaysia, Afghanistan and Lebanon.
