Dow Jones Breaches 24,000 for the First Time Ever The Dow rose over 300 points on the day, pushing it to a record closing of 24,272. The market rise is in large part due to encouraging reports regarding tax reform as Republican Sen. John McCain said that he would vote for the latest plan. This is the second time in the last two months that the Dow has hit a milestone, passing the 23,000 mark in October. With its current rate of growth, many experts are predicting the Dow will hit 25,000 before the
New Year.
