Trump wants to end green card lottery after New York attack

Trump's tweet follows news that Sayfullo Saipov immigrated to the U.S. after being granted residency by the diversity visa lottery programme. On Tuesday, Saipov hit several people with a rental truck, killing eight and injuring more than a dozen. Trump also called out New York Democrat, Sen. Chuck Schumer… Schumer helped craft the program back in 1990, and the bill was signed by former president Bush. In 2013, Schumer did propose a bipartisan immigration bill to scrap the lottery, but it didn't make it through the House.
