Bali's Plastic Sea Of Waste Includes Three Tons Of Garbage
  • 7 years ago
Two freedivers were recently training off the coast of Bali, Indonesia, when they came upon close to 3 tons of floating garbage.

The garbage included plastic bags, bottles, and even human waste. More than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped in oceans each year, and Indonesia is the second-biggest offender after China.

Competitive diver Julia Wheeler posted a video of the garbage as a wake-up call. Wheeler fears this is what beaches will look like if people don’t pay more attention to the problem.
