Some women are chopping off their hair and selling it on the black market, where it can fetch about $21 per head. That's much more than the country's monthly minimum wage of $6. But for some women, $21 isn't enough. Instead, they travel to Colombia or Panama, where black markets are willing to pay more.
Between Venezuela's food shortages and lack of medicine, it doesn't look like things will get better in the near future, leading citizens to take further desperate measures to survive.
