Legends of Chima is a theme introduced in new. The theme features the world of anthropomorphic creatures, called the Land of Chima, which is populated by at least 18 tribes and the war which threatens it.\r
\r
Nine regular sets were featured in the first wave, in addition to six Speedorz sets with more gradually being released through the year.\r
\r
Speedorz is a game introduced with the theme which includes one-wheeled bikes, called Speedorz, powered by a rip-cord. The game involves completing challenges and surpassing obstacles to earn Chi crystals, the mineral the animals are fighting over in the story.\r

On January 16, new Legends of Chima: The Animated Series premiered with two pilot s. The cartoon continued again half-way through new, when the second wave of sets were released. There is also a secondin new.\r

Three video games for the theme are currently known. One, known as Legends of Chima: Speedorz, was released on iOS devices on January 1, new and shortly after as an online game. A second one is for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, and is called LEGO Legends of Chima: Lavals Journey. The last one, an online game, that was released in Autumn new is a massive multi-player online game called LEGO Legends of Chima Online. \r

The Land of Chima was once shared by several species of animals peacefully. After a natural disaster, a mountain rose into the sky and waterfalls began flowing to the land below. The animals that drank from it, at least ten species, evolved into anthropomorphic humans due to the Chi in the water. Not all the animals drank from it, and those who abstained left Chima. According to legend, these animals, called Legends Beasts, will return to Chima when they are needed.\r

The animals were able to live mostly peacefully for years. The Lion Tribe, who first drank from the river, distributed the Chi fairly, even to their enemies, to keep nature in balance. Squabbles were kept from turning into all out war by Speedorz tournaments. \r

This all changed when a young crocodile prince named Cragger placed a Chi orb in his chest before he became of age and was overwhelmed with the power that surged through him and became addicted. After convincing Worriz, the leader of the wolves, to accompany him, they sneaked into the Lions Chi Temple to get more, but were caught by the Lion King, Lagravis, his son, Laval, and their guards, Leonidas and Longtooth.\r

This led to a battle between the Lion and Crocodile tribes when Cragger escaped (Worriz fled as soon as they were caught). In the battle, Craggers parents, Crominus and Crunket, were caught in a frure of the Earth and fell below. They survived, but were thought to be dead to the world.\r

Cragger was named king of the Crocodiles, and through a flower with mind-altering pheromones, his evil sister, Crooler, was able to convince him to start a rebellion against the lions.\r

Making alliances with the Wolf and Raven tribes, Cragger attacked the Lions. The Eagles and Gorillas came to their defense and a battle over the Chi temple ensued between the six tribes. \r
