The course, which is open to adults and children, highlights different facets of Iraq’s past, such as cuneiform script, ancient hunting techniques, and historical leaders, like the Babylonian king Hammurabi.Ali worried that the recent wars were a tragic distraction from the true identity of Iraqi civilization. Now, he hopes the modern game will attract new interest in the county’s rich past.
