Father Shares Heart-wrenching Phone Call to Highlight Domestic Violence Problem

A father shared the story of helping his adult daughter through a domestic violence situation with the help of police from Counties Manukau in New Zealand’s North Island, in a heart-wrenching video released on August 6.The anonymous dad shared audio of a phone call from his daughter, who said she had been threatened with being “shot up” and begged her father to come and stay with her, before breaking down.The father then said Counties Manukau police had attended his daughter’s house and intervened, before explaining his daughter was on the road to recovery seven months after the incident and was safely out of the situation.According to the New Zealand government, it’s estimated half of the country’s murders are committed by a family member.
