Leaked Transcript Reveals Trump Told Mexican President Not To Publicly Oppose Paying For Border Wall

A leaked transcript reveals President Trump's conversations with the Mexican President about the border wall.

President Trump long promised to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and assured all that Mexico would pay for it.
A transcript of Trump’s January call with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto published by the Washington Post suggests Trump’s passion for the project may not be as all-encompassing as he indicated.
During the exchange, Trump tells Nieto, “Believe it or not, this is the least important thing that we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important talk about.”
He also stresses that he’s been talking about Mexico paying for the structure for two years and asks that, when the topic comes up publicly, Nieto say, “we will work it out,” rather than, “we will not pay.”
Mexico’s president declined the recommendation and has since held fast in his refusal to fund Trump’s proposed border wall.
The House of Representatives did take up the endeavor on July 27, approving a spending bill that includes $1.6 billion for the barrier, reports CNN.
House Speaker Paul Ryan has since voiced further support for the project, posting a pro-wall video to Twitter on Tuesday.
He also wrote, “RT if you agree→ It is time for The Wall.”
