Judge orders for terminally ill Charlie Gard to be moved to hospice

A U.K. judge has ordered that Charlie Gard, a terminally ill infant, be moved from a hospital to hospice care. Gard has a rare genetic condition that inhibits him from moving or breathing on his own and is being kept alive by a ventilator. The move to hospice will be followed by the removal of the ventilator, after which Gard will die "within a short period of time." “Most people won’t ever have to go through what we’ve been through. We’ve had no control over our son’s life and no control over our son’s death.” The hospital also issued a statement, saying "“It has been a uniquely painful and distressing process for all concerned."
