Video shows moment fair-ground ride collapses

A video shows the moment a carriage detatched from a fair-ground ride, throwing its passengers to the ground.
One person died and at least seven others were injured, three critically, in the accident at Ohio State Fair in Columbus.
Euronews has blacked out the instant when one of the rides modules detached out of respect to the victims. The full video, posted on Snapchat by Julian Bellinger, shows people being launched into the air as the structure disintergrates.
Following the accident, state governor John Kasich ordered all rides be shut down.
“I am terribly saddened by this accident, by the loss of life and that people were injured enjoying Ohio’s fair,” Kasich wrote. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to those grieving and injured. I have ordered a full investigation into this incident and have ordered that all fair rides by shut down until additional safety inspections can be completed.”
The ride had been inspected by the authorities, confirmed the state department of agriculture’s chief inspector Michael Vartorella
The popular fair was attended by almost a million people last year.
