Tony Hall wants equality at the BBC by 2020

'I want more women in more prominent places on television and also on radio' says the BBC's Director General, after the BBC's annual report revealed that only one third of the highest earning employees at the BBC are women. The report also highlighted that only 2 of the top ten highest paid people are the BBC are women, with the highest paid woman, making only one quarter the salary of the highest paid male. Whilst Hall failed to address the disparity in pay between genders, he did pledge to ensure that there is equality in terms of on-air representation at the broadcaster, by 2020.
