This fight never should have happened. Stupid and dangerous matching-making and Sakuraba knew it. He did not want to take this fight and said it several times and joked that he didn’t even want to show up.

Despite all this he did show up and did fight. He knew how dangerous the fight was but he fought anyways for the fans and because he’s a true warrior we should all respect.

He did not want to even be in the tournament in the first place and he was right. At this point in his career he should only have super fights against fighters like Rickson, Royce, or Kiyoshi Tamura- Not be fed to a young destructive beast like Melvin.
