Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, State Minister for Forest Transport, Sports, Environment, and Cinema, announced the winners of Kerala State Award 2014 on Monday, 10 August, in Thiruvananthapuram.

The minister announced the results during a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram. The jury members gave the final report on the winners' list early on Monday morning.

The jury has selected the best performances of 2014 in Malayalam from 73 films.

Following are the winners of the Kerala State Awards 2014:

Best Actor: Nivin Pauly ("1983" and "Bangalore Days"), Sudheev Nair ("My Life Partner")

Best Actress: Nazriya Nazim ("Bangalore Days" and "Om Shanti Osaana")

Best Cinematographer: Amal Neerad ("Iyobinte Pusthakam")

Best Film: "Ottal" - Jayaraj

Best Script Writer: Anjali Menon ("Bangalore Days")

Best Background Score: Bijipal

Best Character Role: Anoop Menon

Best Director: Sanal Kumar Sashidharan ("Oraal Pokkam")

Second best film: "My Life Partner"
