The Weekly Reel: The Mummy, American Made and Much Much More
  • 7 years ago
Hey welcome to the Weekly Reel. The place we tell you about the movies you need to see, but you’ll probably stream for free.

This week we’re talking about Tom Cruise’s remake of the Mummy…

His other movie American Made…

Plus a sneak peak at some other projects that are in the works.

[MUMMY]

[SOT; I saw her. She is real.]

In the Mummy, an ancient Princess named Xenu is awakened from a billion year sleep beneath the desert to punish suppressive persons that ran off with Katie Holmes??

[SOT: f/x]

Wait, sorry, wrong science fiction story.

[SOT: Wait. Sorry, have you met and SP?]

We’ll see Tom Cruise fight this reimagining of the Mummy, 85 years after the monster originally appeared on screen in 1932. As you can see, they’ve unwrapped a lot of new technology since then, but they can’t get their heads, or faces out of the sand.

[SOT: f/x]

The film was shot in the U.K., Namibia, and aboard the famous vomit commit, where Tom Cruise performed his own stunts…

[SOT: f/x]

Christ, Tom. Can you play a step-dad or something already?

[SOT: We’re going to figure this out. Don’t leave me.

Take our advice: Expect this movie to blow up!

[SOT: f/x]

And not just because it takes place in the Middle East.

[AMERICAN MADE]

Hey, did hear about Tom Cruise’s new movie? The one where he plays a drug smuggling pilot during the 1980’s? You did?! COOL! So did we!

He plays a real guy named Barry Seal who flew drugs and guns for the CIA and Pablo Escobar and stuff and even drove his plane through a neighborhood. Look at all that cocaine!

The movie cost 80 million dollars – which we just figured out would buy you 1,417 kilos of blow!

We can’t believe Tom Cruise is playing a normal guy, with a family and stuff, and look he’s not like a super hero, and look he’s afraid of guns and stuff.

WOOOOO!

Anyway the movie comes out pretty soon hope you check it out. We probably will, maybe we’ll see you there.

WOOOOOO!!!

[ON SET]

Guten tag, Germany. We caught up to Better Late Than Never while they were out filming season 2 at Bradenburger Gate in Berlin. And Shatner, Winkler, Foreman, Bradshaw and Dye were all in attendance. Kinda makes us want to book a ticket right now.

Sarah Jessica Parker was filming her new show Divorce at NYU in New York City.
The show – also starring Thomas Hayden Church – is about a couple going through a long drawn out split. That would probably explain the long face.

So buy a ticket, kick up your feet and enjoy your overpriced popcorn. We’ll see you next week at the box office.
