OUR HERO: Brave Sunday Express journalist Geoff Ho tried to STOP evil London attackers
A BRAVE Sunday Express journalist heroically confronted the London Bridge terrorists as they tried to knife a pub bouncer during the evil attack. Friends who had appealed online for information about Mr Ho's whereabouts later confirmed he was in intensive care and that it "seems he is going to be OK". He was outside the Southwark Tavern in Southwark Street when the knife-wielding terrorists attacked a bouncer standing in the doorway of the pub.The selfless editor stepped in while wearing his British Lions shirt, having earlier watched Warren Gatland's side start their tour of New Zealand with victory over the Provincial Barbarians, Express.co.uk has been told. Mr Ho was later seen walking calmly towards an ambulance escorted by a police officer. The terrorists killed at least seven people and injured 48 before they were shot dead eight minutes after ploughing a van into pedestrians on London Bridge.  Mr Ho’s friend Isabelle Oderberg had earlier made repeated appeals for information as to the editor’s whereabouts. After an anxious wait, the Sunday Express journalist, a martial arts expert specialising in Kung Fu and kickboxing, was confirmed to have been taken to hospital and placed in intensive care. Friends later said Mr Ho, who has been with the Sunday Express for 10 years, was sitting up in bed.Mr Ho incredibly posted a message on Facebook playing down his bravery, saying he wasn't sure whether it was "stupid or noble" to intervene. He said: "Don't know whether it was stupid or noble to jump in and break up the fight outside the Southwark Tavern, but two a***s trying to do over the lone bouncer on the door isn't happening on my watch.”  Sunday Express editor Martin Townsend paid tribute to his brave colleague."Geoff Ho is an absolutely first class reporter and a fine and decent man and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time," he said. "We are all hoping and praying for a speedy recovery." As news of his incredible actions spread throughout the country, journalists in Mr Ho’s offices were left amazed by his bravery. One colleague said: "Geoff Ho has an unmatched presence in our office and we were all floored to hear what happened last night."The bravery he showed in the heinous terror attack was astounding – but honestly, not at all surprisingly.”

Another said: "As anyone who has worked with Geoff Ho knows, there is never a dull moment."His intolerance for nonsense is like no other – which he perfectly balances with being bright, kind and funny."What happened last night – the few details we have about the incident – has shown Geoff to be the hero we all knew he was and is."We all look forward to having him back in the office and will raise a glass to him this evening." And one journalist added: “Geoff’s energy and enthusiasm make him a larger than life character in the office.“He is hardly ever seen without his signature Australian cow boy hat and is a much valued member of the team.“His bravery and heroism at such a time are exactly what we would expect from such a generous, friendly man.”• As we remember the innocent people who died in this awful attack, we also wish to send a get well message to all of the victims. And to our dear colleague Geoff Ho, we wish you the speediest of recoveries and look forward to your return. . 00FastNews.
