Fox News’ Jesse Watters Calls Uproar Over Comey Memo ‘A Boring Scandal’

While reactions to the report about the James Comey memo largely involved shock and, among some, outrage, Jesse Watters expressed a different point of view.

The New York Times reported on Tuesday that a memo by recently fired FBI Director James Comey says that President Trump asked him to stop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
While reactions to the story largely involved shock and, among some, outrage, Jesse Watters of Fox News' 'The Five' expressed a different point of view.
On Tuesday night’s installment of the show, Watters said he found the whole matter rather “boring.”
He commented, “If I went out tomorrow on the street and I asked 10 people who James Comey was, I’d probably maybe get three, maybe four, who knew, depending on the neighborhood. This is a scandal with no video, with no audio, with no sex, with no money, with no dead bodies. It’s a boring scandal. No one knows the deputy AG’s name, no one can pronounce the Russian defense minister’s name.”
Many lawmakers, however, are suggesting the recent development is quite significant.
Following the Times' report, Republican Senator John McCain said Tuesday, "The only thing I can say is I think we’ve seen this movie before. I think it's reaching the point where it's of Watergate size and scale."
