Conor McGregor Influenced Charlie Hunnam in 'King Arthur'

Charlie Hunnam is playing a legendary English character as “King Arthur” in his highly anticipated new flick, but his inspiration for the character may surprise you.

Hunnam got hyped up for his medieval battle scenes after watching a much more modern warrior, and an Irishman to boot! The Notorious Conor McGregor.

According to TMZ, before Hunnam conducted make believe sword fights on sets, he tells RedBulletin.com he “thought an enormous amount about Conor McGregor… Conor McGregor was somebody that I drew a lot of inspiration from and that Guy Richie and I discussed a lot.”

These days, the UFC Octagon is one of the only places that showcases intense hand-to-hand combat, and we suppose it does mimic the ferocity of Old English battles… Except, of course, it’s not a fight to the death.

Anyways, we’re sure McGregor will get the news that his fighting style influenced a character in a blockbuster movie… Which is just what he needs – an ego boost.
