00:00Hey guys, my name is Becca and today I'm going to be trying a Rue Sear.
00:11My name is Tosca and I am a sear wheel artist.
00:14I travel a lot for singular shows all around the world.
00:18To me it's like just the most versatile thing and I love how it feels.
00:22I feel confident in your hands so let's do this.
00:27So this is the sear wheel.
00:30It is a perfectly round hoop that's made out of like an aluminum steel alloy so it's really
00:36strong and won't bend.
00:38Okay so the first move is going to be a one pointed move and have a low center of balance
00:45and you're just putting this foot here and pulling back behind you so that you spin on
00:51this single point sort of like this.
00:54So when I first got on the wheel you have to really know like your balance and your
00:57weight of things so it was difficult.
00:59I didn't think I was going to be able to but I did and it was like exhilarating.
01:04Oh my gosh.
01:05I just kept wanting to do it over and over again.
01:08Yes exactly.
01:09Nice.
01:10Nice.
01:11Nice.
01:12Nice.
01:13Nice.
01:14Nice.
01:15Nice.
01:16Nice.
01:17Nice.
01:18Nice.
01:19Nice.
01:20Nice.
01:21Nice.
01:22Nice.
01:23Nice.
01:25I wanted to keep trying.
01:26I wanted to keep spinning and keep that momentum going.
01:27Yes.
01:28Yes.
01:29Yes.
01:30Yes.
01:31Yes.
01:32Yes.
01:33I felt a little dizzy but I kind of pushed past that because I didn't want to stop but
01:34it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
01:35Oh my gosh.
01:36Finally we're going to do some off the wheel manipulations.
01:44They're great transitional moves.
01:46You can place it on your chest and it will just sort of float there.
01:51Now just spin.
01:52Spin.
01:53Spin.
01:54Spin.
01:55Spin.
01:56Nice.
01:57Nice.
01:58Very nice.
01:59And now lower it to your chest.
02:00Yeah.
02:01Nice.
02:02On your chest bone.
02:03Yeah.
02:04And now you can actually let it go.
02:05I didn't break a mirror today so I've accomplished something.
02:07Nice.
02:08And now you can slow down slowly so it doesn't hit your ankles.
02:11Nice.
02:12Whoa.
02:13Whoa.
02:14Whoa.
02:15Yes.
02:16Slide your hand down.
02:17Yeah.
02:18Yes.
02:19Exactly.
02:20It totally will come naturally.
02:22Do I look crazy?
02:23At the very end of my classes I reserve some time for them to just disregard all of my rules
02:29because I feel like in personal experimentation, you know, through that comes style.
02:34Go for it.
02:35Okay.
02:36Okay.
02:52Good job.
03:09Yeah.
03:10Good job, Becca.
03:14Tosca was great.
03:15She was the best teacher ever.
03:16teacher ever. She was just like so encouraging and she just made me want
03:20to keep going and trying and she was great. When I first saw her on the wheel
03:25I was thoroughly impressed like she was amazing. I didn't even know like how much
03:31work goes into this firsthand experience right now. It is a lot of work and I
03:35appreciate everyone who has tried this and does this professionally. I would
03:39totally do this again.
