Tamori, while enrolled at Waseda University in the 1960s was a member of the university's Jazz appreciation and research club. Big time Miles fan since the 60s. You can see him play flute and trumpet here:

When Miles visited in Tokyo,
Tamori (Japanese jazz trumpetter, and comedian,
TV show Waratte Iitomo's host)
interviewed him in 1985.

Miles' trumpet is crying
Tamori' trumpet is laughing

At first He presented Miles some food samples.
(It's displayed in Japanese restrant show case)

Tamori is too nervous all the time.

Tamori pointed out:
be bop era music were too talkative,
but Miles played simply and minimaly.
Miles changed how to play the ballad manners in 70's.,
and Miles are going to penetrate the border of music

Miles admired that
'You understand music',
presented a pastel to Tamori.
