On Monday, the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) announced their partnership with Whoop to give players access to new wristwatch technology. The Whoop Strap 2.0 is a continuous biometric wrist monitor and can measure heart rate, fatigue, and recovery levels during player workouts and training. We want to capture data beyond the NFL season and make sure they are taking care of their bodies and getting enough rest, especially during the offseason. - Ahmad Nassar, president of NFL Players Inc. The agreement between the tech company and the NFLPA gives Whoop the right to sell the data to broadcast networks, sports sites, and to be used in scientific research. Whoop has also worked with Major League Baseball in providing players with wristwatches for a study.
