Troubled Amanda Bynes went into hiding in a desperate bid to rebuild her broken life, but the former Nickelodeon starlet has sparked fresh fears over her mental health by revealing painful-looking cuts on her arm. OK! Magazine caught the fragile star on a rare public outing, showing what looked like signs of self-harm, with slash-like marks near her wrists. Amanda’s history, coupled with these scary scars, is a major cause for concern, L.A.-based psychotherapist Dr. Jenn Mann warned OK!. “Typically, people resort to cutting because they are experiencing emotional pain, and cutting is an external way to express that pain,” Dr. Mann revealed. Amanda, who struggles with bipolar disorder and takes medication, was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold in 2014. A rep insisted Amanda is “doing well,” but an insider said “She doesn’t live a normal life.” OK!
