April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month, and dark blue is the accepted color for child abuse awareness. National Child Abuse Awareness Month began in 1983, following acts in Congress to protect children from abuse. Child abuse and neglect awareness activities are promoted across the country during April of each year.
