Malcolm X - FBI attempt to bribe
"After the assassination of JFK in the winter of 1963, Malcolm X was silenced by Elijah Mohammed for 90 days allegedly because of Malcolm's statement that JFK's assassination was "the chickens coming home to roost." Of course, this was a pretext on Elijah Mohammed's part, as Malcolm had said far more inflammatory things when he was in Mohammed's favor. The FBI decided to see if they could take advantage of the tension between Malcolm and Elijah Mohammed, and went to Malcolm's house to interrogate him.

However, unbeknownst to the FBI--notorious for their covert recordings of others-- Malcolm had hidden a reel-to-reel tape recorder under his couch that he activated with a light switch. Listen as the FBI agents employ flattery, bribery, and outright chicanery as they reveal their absolute ignorance of the character of the man they are speaking with"
