INDONESIA — Meet Donald Trump’s Indonesian business partner. He’s a billionaire, a real estate guy, the owner of the country’s largest media group, and like his American best friend, also wants to be president.

His name is Harry Tanoe and, like Trump, his glamorous wife, numerous children and huge wealth have made him a larger-than-life figure.

But he’s hungry for more. His ambition has driven him into politics, with his eye on the game’s top prize - the presidency..

A political opportunist, Tanoe joined the National Democrat party in 2011, and in 2013 he jumped ship to People’s Conscience party. Unable to get ahead in either, he used his money, fame and media power to establish his own party, Perindo in 2015.

It’s with Perdino that Tanoe believes can achieve his dream.

In that same year, Tanoe signed a deal with the Trump Organization to build a 6-star resort hotel in Bali - a controversial deal that locals are not happy about.

Tanoe attended Donald Trump’s inauguration and he says it’s inspired him. It proves that if Donald Trump can be elected president, anyone can.
