Netflix wants to give viewers control over TV characters

Could Netflix be getting into the video game business? Not quite, but they're aiming to do something similar with their original series. It's all centered on a new interactive storytelling technology that will allow viewers to control the destiny of their favorite characters and make decisions on pivotal plot points. Netflix is going to do a test run later this year with a children's show called "Choose Your Own Adventure." The streaming giant will have actors film a variety of alternate plot segments that will enable the viewer to choose his or her own direction. If this proves successful, there are plans to work with the same format for adult-oriented shows.
