Waves Slam Into Malta's Famous Azure Window Prior to Its Collapse

Malta’s world-famous Azure Window, a rock arch on the island of Gozo, endured heavy storms on March 7 before it collapsed a day later. Tieqa tad-Dwejra, as it is known in Malta, fell into the sea on March 8, according to local reports.The Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that the landmark was destroyed by unavoidable natural erosion.
