YouTube ditches 30-second unskippable ads

YouTube is passing unskippable 30-second ads starting in 2018, Google announced. The company is replacing them with other unskippable ads, such as the six-second ad and the 20-second ad. "We’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers," a Google spokesperson told Business Insider. Since most of YouTube users are accessing the platform from their mobile devices, the 30-second ads are negatively impacting their experience.
